Help Zachary get out of hospital

Zachary Newell is a graduate student at the University of Minnesota. He traveled to Mexico City for spring break. On Thursday March 8th he was hospitalized after falling down a staircase. On March 9th he had surgery to repair his face which suffered many lacerations and much trauma. He is sedated and intubated. I am his father, Michael Newell and I am going to Mexico City to be with Zachary. I am traveling to Chicago Sunday March 11 and arrive in Mexico City on Monday March 12. Zachary's hospital bill is currently $19,000 USD.  He is a graduate student in his final semester at the U of M and does not have insurance for Mexico hospitalization.  He does have health insurance in the US through Blue Cross Blue Shield but to our dismay it does not offer international coverage. I am able to fund getting to Mexico City to be with Zachary, but do not have the money needed to settle (negotiate) his hospital care. His needs are immediate and I am asking for help from anyone and everyone who understands the despair I feel about Zachary's situation.
