Hunter's surgery fund
Donation protected
Hunter was born with a condition called arthrogryposis. This condition affects his joints. Hunter is unable to walk, his elbows are stuck straight and he is unable to move his hands. Hunter is 3 years old and was just accepted to Texas Scottish Rite hospital. Going to an amazing hospital like this that specializes in his condition has been something that we have dreamed of for Hunter since birth. Some of the goals we have for Hunter are: gaining the strength to stand and walk, having an elbow release so he can gain some use of his arms and hands, and surgery to adjust his hand to a position that will best fit his needs. All of this can only be done through surgery. We have exhausted our effort in finding a local doctor in NM. We have literally seen dozens. In July we attended a confrence in Tulsa, Oklahoma where we attended a seminar by a doctor from Scottish rite. He was just what we have been looking for. He is one of the only doctors who will preform the procedures we need done on Hunter. We have his first appointment which will be a consolation scheduled for the end of September. After that we will start the long process of surgeries. This will require being away from home for weeks on end. Because this hospital is in Texas we are not sure if Hunter's insurance will cover any of his appointments. We were very hesitant to do one of these. We are not the type of people to ever ask for help, but we may not be able to get Hunter the surgeries he needs without a little help. Having a child with a disability can sure make you swallow your pride. Thank you all for your time and and help.
