On September 6, 2015, Pastor Dale Rosenberger of Duncannon, PA, suffered the first of two strokes, the second of which paralyzed his left side and left him unable to speak or swallow. Now he needs a handicapped accessible van. One of pastor’s greatest wishes is to be able to attend the church that he pastored for over 28 years. He has always had a heart for people, and being able to fellowship with the church, would mean more to him than you can imagine.
Thirty-three years ago, Pastor Rosenberger and his wife Diana moved to Duncannon with their four children to pastor Duncannon Assembly of God. In those years, even after his retirement in 2011, they served the community in any way they could. Pastor Dale gave of his time and resources to individuals in need and also to the community. He could be found anytime of day or night visiting those who were sick. Even after retiring from full-time ministry, he and his wife continued touching the lives of everyone they met.
Now we have a chance to return this love to him. This stroke has obviously been life changing, but Pastor Dale’s positive attitude and love for God and others that he showed during his years in the ministry, is still having an immense effect on everyone he meets. God’s love is not hindered by these physical limitations. Stories of how he touched people in the hospital, the rehab center, and the nursing homes during the first six months amazed even his family. He showed the love of God so strongly, that he didn’t even have to speak. Since he’s been home, that love is still being shared with the therapists who come to work with him.
Pastor is showing slow, constant improvement, but still uses a wheelchair, making it impossible to leave the house without a medical transport. His wife, Diana, is looking to buy a handicap accessible van to make it possible for her to transport him to church on Sundays as well as to the doctor and other appointments as necessary.
If we are able to purchase a van, it will make an amazing difference in their lives for which they will be extremely grateful. We are hoping to be able to bless them with the money for the van as soon as possible. There are no words for will be for whatever you can do to help make this possible. Any extra funds will be used to offset the medical bills they face.
