Top Canadian Junior Athlete

I have watched my dear friend Lucia Hunt sacrifice and struggle for years to give her kids every opportunity to be successful. She is by far the most amazing and giving parent I have known. Her youngest daughter Makiah Hunt is an honor student and has been a top Canadian junior athlete all 4 years in high school. Makiah has worked extremely hard to not only become a top Canadian athlete but to achieve high honor marks in school to ensure a scholarship to university.
Unfortunately in Canada there are very limited scholarships for athletes. Makiah has ranked number 1 youth in Canada for 4 consecutive years in Pole vault and has maintained a 90%+ grade average. She is only the 2nd female pole vaulter to hit the 4 meter mark before post secondary. Unfortunately most scholorships go to team sports like football even in the US. Makiah did get a part scholorship to South Dakota U and her mother thought with her marks and OSAP it would be financially posible for Makiah to go. Makiah accepted and is set to leave this Thursday. Yesterday her mother received confirmation of OSAP and the amount was half of what she expected. Due to the fact that Makiah isn't attending an Ontario university, she only gets half the financing. Lucia has exhausted all her finances to get Makiah to training and competitions. She also has a son in university. She is a hard working single parent who just can't come up with the funds on her own in such a short period of time. There is about $7500 US difference in the amount needed to get Makiah to university.
I am asking all my friends and family to take a little out of their spending money this week and help. It would be truly dissappointing not only to this young talented lady, but to youth sport in Canada that just don't have enough financial support for our track and field athletes.
Please do not hesitate to contact either myself or Lucia for any additional information.
Thank you kindly for taking the time to read and for your generous support
