David's Leukemia Help
Donation protected
David is a very special 8-year old boy, an American born in Honduras. His first 7 months of life were spent in an amazing place with the wonderful people at the Jimmy Hughes Ministry in rural Honduras, due to circumstances surrounding his birth. From there he moved to the island of Roatan in the Bay Islands, attended an excellent school, was a vibrant and high spirited child who seemed to enjoy every day of life. One day without warning, in April 2016, a school day, he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. I am his grandfather and legal guardian since shortly after birth. I have been with him every step of his life. He is my son in every sense of the word except actual fatherhood. Immediately after confirmation of this terrifying disease I brought him to St. Jude Children's Hospital , a place that I'm convinced originated in Heaven and somehow came to Memphis. There is a very good probability that David will be cured after the remaining 120 weeks of his treatment. Although St. Jude helps the families of their patients in awesome ways, there are still numerous financial needs to overcome. My small business closed the day I left home to bring David here. It's just me, as caregiver to him, and it's not possible to work at the same time. My only purpose in life is to help this child. There are simply so many needs that my fast depleting savings can only cover for the very near future. What then? Please consider for a moment what kind of a bad spot you would find yourself in should such a thing ever happen to your child. This is a legitimate plea if there ever was one. We would be most grateful for any help you might offer. Thank you sincerely.
