Donna Baverman's Brain Surgery
In July of 2013 I, Donna Baverman, suddenly became very sick. I was rushed to the ER where my blood pressure was so high they thought I might die. After a long 3 year journey my family and I have learned a lot about why. I have Dysautonomia, or autonomic nerve dysfunction, that causes my blood pressure to spike and drop in extremes throughout the day. This has of course caused many other physical issues in my body.
The last three years has reaked havoc on my family and my life. I've been in and out of the hospital. I had a heart attack and had stents put in. I have blown blood vessels out in my eyes. I have rapidly declining kidney function and now have Stage 4 Kidney disease. After many specialists and tests they finally may have an answer. I need to have brain surgery to move an artery that is pressing on my brain stem. This may actually fix all my physical illness issues and the doctors believe my body can repair itself. Luckily I have great doctors and insurance.
I have been able to still work on a limited basis over the last few years and I am a main source of income for my family. This surgery will take two months to recover from and I cannot work. Nor can my daughter who will be caring for me. It will also impact my husband's work. This is why we are asking for financial assistance through this difficult time.
The money will be used for household expenses (mortgage, food, electricity, etc.) as well as expenses for travel to the hospital (ferry passes and gas).
Our lives have been very stressful these last 3 years and through the support of family and friends we have made the best out of a bad situation. To lift the financial stress off of us and to be able to focus on healing would be so incredibly helpful.
Thank You
