Frencheeze to BR to Feed the Needy

Donation protected

**1:00 PM, Monday, August 15 UPDATE:  After 2 hours and several generous donations, we were able to reach our $1,800 goal, so now we're shooting to raise $3,000 to reach more folks who were affected by the floods. Every bit helps.**

The recent flooding in Baton Rouge has devasted and displaced thousands of people.

Jason King, the owner of Frencheeze Food truck is willing to travel Baton Rouge to feed hundreds of people, but he needs our help to do it. 1800 bucks would be enough to feed 500 people with grilled cheese sandwiches. 3500 would be enough to feed 1,000 people.

Please consider a donation.

Also, in order to ensure some transparency here is the answer to a few questions:
1. Who you are and where you’re from

My name is John Pourciau, and I am from Baton Rouge Lousiana. I got this idea from my friend Sam Kimball, whose wife is also from Baton Rouge.

2. Your relationship or contact to the parties you're raising funds for

I am friends with Jason King, the owner of Frencheeze Food Truck (frencheeze.com)

3. How the funds will be spent (be specific as possible)

The money will be spent on gas, labor (the folks who will be running the food truck, and handing out the grilled cheese sandwiches) and the actual cost of the bread, cheese and butter. Those cost translate to roughly 3 dollars per sandwich.

The truck will be driven from New Orleans to Baton Rouge. Jason's staff will then set the truck up, start grilling cheeses and handing them out to folks that are both staffing and residing at the shelter. The preference is to set up at  Celtic Studios which is functioning as a shelter.

The food truck is available Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Depending on when/ if it gets funded, it will dictate when the truck is deployed.

4. Your withdrawal plan to get the funds from the campaign to the ultimate beneficiary/ies

Jason is listed as the beneficiary, because he is the business owner. All of the money will go to him, as he wil be the person in charge of buying the supplies and deploying the truck. I will not make any money on this, and I will not be in charge of handling or dispersing the money.
