Financial help for family

Hello all,

My name is Suyog Parajuli and I'm creating this gofundme for my uncle and aunt and their family. To give some background, my first cousin Nitesh was given a life changing diagnosis late last year when doctors told him that he had a rare and serious condition called aplastic anemia which meant that his body couldn't produce enough new blood cells. His was an aggressive one which required a bone marrow transplant.

While an eventual match was found, his treatment had to be done at the UVA hospital in Charlottesville which is a 2 hour drive from where the family currently lives in Northern Virginia.

His treatment began in March where he had to go through several rounds of chemo prior to getting the transplant and had to be on several medications and anti rejection drugs. While my uncle and aunt were prepared for the initial 2-3 months it would take to treat Nitesh in Charlottesville, he developed many complications and has been in and out of the ICU several times now. He developed TMA which is a rare complication for transplant patients and has had to be intubated at one point. He needs dialysis multiple times a week and we're finally seeing some daylight as he is getting ready to move to rehab this month, 9 months after his initial treatment.

There were several moments during the summer and fall where the doctors were not sure what course of action to take and thought he would never be out of the woods but against all odds, he has been showing progress. During all this, my uncle and aunt have had to make drastic changes, move to Charlottesville and have been by his side nonstop as he recovers in the hospital. This has taken a huge toll financially on their livelihoods as they had to quit their jobs to take care of my cousin, never once leaving his side.

While many family and friends have helped over the months, I'm starting this campaign to make sure that my uncle and aunt don't have to worry about their basic necessities during this challenging time and can fully devote their time in providing the care that Nitesh needs.
