Bryan Peele, husband, father,(to my brother and me), grandfather and friend to all has been battling a very aggressive and miserable disease. Its called pulmonary fibrosis which is scar tissue that is forming in his lungs. Unfortunately there is no known cause and there is no cure. His only option has been to pursue a double lung transplant.
Despite the odds against him our dad made the desicion to move the only direction he could, forward, one day at a time. He has amazed each clinician one after the next. He has shown us all what true strength is and he has pushed forward each day fired by the love he has for his family and friends.
Our dad finally made it to a point where he could go to Seattle for transplant surgical evaluation 3 weeks ago.
All of his hard work, long days, long nights, pain, tears and fears he has kept us all going and now here we are. We could not be prouder....
We prepared ourselves for a week of daunting tests as well as family education that we all were required to attend to show our support and commitment to his recovery.
Due to his deteriorated health our dad was unable to begin his first test Monday morning and was sent to the ER and then to ICU. After a week at the University of Washington ICU he was transferred to Kindred Hospital in the hopes to become strong enough to continue testing. At this time our family is making the trek from Montana to Seattle to be with him, show our support and our love for him.
The funds we hope to raise will help to cover high deductible insurance as well as what insurance does not cover. Travel, hotel stays, lost wages, (none of these things should matter at this point,)..But as our funds become exhausted we have reached a point that we are unable to manage.
We want to give our all to our dad ,...
He has been through so much and has continued to make the best of life. He has kept such great humor and has shown every person who has walked into his room what life is about....he is still moving forward as well as he can one day at a time. Now is the time for us to ask for help and so now we shall....
