WE LOVE THE NELSON FAMILY!
Donation protected
Hello everyone!
My name is Melanie, and this is my best friend Jordan. Jordan and I have been friends since our first day of fifth grade. Both of us nerdy little kids sitting in the front of the bus, she thought I was in second grade because I was so little. Both completely different personalities, but somehow clicked. Through the years we both went down different paths however, the bond always remained the same.
Four years ago Jordan became intrigued by the book of Job, and asked the Lord to make her faith like Job. Not long after she was diagnosed with a very rare case of brain cancer. She then headed to Jackson, Florida for six weeks to receive radiation. During that treatment she lost most of her hair on the left side of her head, and we thank the Lord it grew back! Since then her cancer has been stable (neither growing nor shrinking).
She still travels to St. Jude every six months for check-ups, and while still struggling with some of the side effects of the radiation she keeps her hope and faith that the Lord is bringing her restoration. January of this year (2016) was as normal as any other visit had been - everything was stable and they sent her on her way. When the July visit came around things seemed different. Nothing externally, but coming from her mother – you know when something is not right with your baby girl. I got the text on Monday, July 25 around one o’clock pm that they had found a new spot and it was growing more aggressively than the last. The tumor is located in her thalamus (very center of the brain), which means that it is inoperable. Once she heals from having her port put in she will begin chemotherapy, and possibly radiation.
The Lord has placed it on my heart to donate my hair and have her a wig made. Her boyfriend (now fiancée) proposed a couple days ago, and I would love for her to feel beautiful on her wedding day! Today I cut over 12 inches off of my hair to donate to this cause. We are going through the company, Caring and Comfort, to have the wig made. I have set the goal at the highest possible amount and any proceeds remaining will be going to help her family through this difficult time.
Jehovah Jireh – the Lord who provides! Jehovah Rapha – the Lord who heals! We are strongly believing that God is not even close to being done with Jordan’s amazing story, and we would love for you to be a part of this journey with us! If you are feeling led to make a donation, it will not go to waste! Help us to remind Jordan just how loved and cared for she is. I’m praying that there is encouragement in her heart, and that her testimony will have impact on every person she comes in contact with.
Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read, and I pray He is moving in your heart just as much as I know His Hand is in this.
Have a wonderful day!
