Special Needs Van for Alex Fuller

I am a very close friend of Alex and his mother Karen.  This is a family of amazing strength, determination and most of all a "heart of gold" for others who rarely ask for help.  Alex was born 28 years ago with cebral palsy and Karen is a 25 year cancer survivor.

For the past 7 years, Karen has been searching high and low for a van that will accommodate Alex's special needs. With Alex's height, a van that has higher head space is needed, which has made Karen's search even more challenging.  The previous van did not accommodate Alex's height and in order to clear the entrance, he would have to "scrunch" down, which caused him physical discomfort.  This van had to be surplused a few years ago and since then, Alex has only gotten out of the house when necessary (ie: Dr. appts., etc).  Not having a van has limited Alex's independence tremendously, which has caused him at times to be depressed.

Karen found the PERFECT used van for Alex a month ago and was able to put $4,000 down (which was obtained by a grant), however, further assistance is needed.  The van cannot be held much longer and thus the risk of losing this van is becoming more apparent each day.

This campaign is so important to me as I have seen Karen do fundraisers, help others in so many ways but never for themselves.  Because this van cannot be held much longer, it is vital to raise these funds by September 16, 2016.

This family has such a special place in my heart as well as many others.  Any amount would be very much appreciated.  Won't you please reach into your hearts and to this campaign with a donation to help Alex gain his well-deserved independence back.
