Hello all,
As many of you know, I'm a 12 yr breast cancer survivor, but after 12 yrs cancer free, and thinking I was "good to go", I got that horrible news once again. Breast cancer. Agressive this time, but caught early, so I'm very hopeful. Since I originally had a lumpectomy and radiation, those aren't options. I will need a mastectomy and reconstruction. My surgeon & I agreed on removing the other breast for prevention. Yes, it did nothing wrong, but why worry about it, so it's going.
I will be out on disability from work for awhile and although I do have insurance, it won't cover all expenses, which is why I (uncomfortably) am starting this GoFundMe campaign. I'm going to have bills to pay, co-pays, deductibles, rent, etc and am asking for any help you can provide. It means the world to me if there's anything you can do to help to eliminate additional stress during this already stressful time. I'm also hoping to continue, uniterrupted, my on my education path to become a teacher and my school is allowing me to take the remaining classes for my credential online. It is my passion to become a teacher, to be with and mentor kids, that is keeping me focused on getting healthy. For GOOD.
Since my cancer is grade 3 (out of 3, so aggressive) surgery will be rather soon. Part of me is relieved; another part is terrified. I know things are tough for a lot of you, so please don't feel pressured if you're unable to help monetarily.
