Ryan Young

Ryan Young tragically passed away on Saturday, 24th September 2022, at the young age of 25 years after a farm accident. Ryan packed a lot into his short life and recently became a proud father to 18month old Elliot with his fiance Sophie. Ryan and Sophie were building their lives together, setting plans for the future with plenty to look forward to.

To support his family, Ryan started work with Barker Trailers at Maryborough in 2018 as a young fabrication apprentice, fabricating semi-truck trailers while learning and mastering his trade. He successfully completed his apprenticeship in November 2021 and moved into a full-time role where he continued growing his skills.

He and Sophie juggled parenthood, with Elliot their number one priority; they made it work as young parents do. Ryan would finish work and care for Elliot in the evenings while Sophie went to work at Tru Foods on the afternoon shift.

Ryan's passing means that the family's regular income will be severely impacted, and we hope those close to Ryan and in the community can try and help relieve the financial pressure at this time to help Sophie & Elliot. All funds raised will go directly to Sophie and Elliot to help them navigate the coming weeks and months during this sad and challenging time.
