3rd Annual Party for the Police

The Det. Joe Gallant Memorial Foundation is a recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing fundraising for Boston organizations who, in turn, support the men and women of the Boston Police Department as they continue their mission to work with citizens and communities in Boston to "fight crime, reduce fear and improve the quality of life in our neighborhoods" through community policing (from BPD Mission Statement). This foundation was started by the family and friends of Detective Joe Gallant, a 23-year veteran of the Boston Police Department and proud citizen of the City of Boston, who sadly lost his life and ended his watch in the early morning hours of January 4, 2013 at the age of 56. Det. Gallant was taken too soon, and his life's work as a member of the BPD was, in our eyes, left unfinished. We plan to continue his legacy by supporting his brothers and sisters still actively serving the City of Boston as members of the BPD.
Our 3rd annual Party for the Police fundraiser is taking place Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 7:00pm at Florian Hall in Dorchester, MA. The money we raise at this event will benefit the Family Justice Center of Boston and the Boston Police Peer Support Unit.
The FJC, located on Commonwealth Ave in the Allston neighborhood of Boston, is described as "a program of the Boston Public Health Commission; an initiative of the Mayor's Office and Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley, and the Family Justice Division of the Boston Police Department" put in place to provide families and individual victims a safe and welcoming environment where they can recieve both emotional and legal support as they begin the long process of moving forward and healing from domestic violence.
The BPD Peer Support Unit provides counseling services and support groups to officers in need of assistance following professional or personal losses, or who simply need help coping with the stress of the job. This program is vital to ensuring that the men and women of the Boston Police Department can perform their jobs fairly and justly with the best interests of the citizens of Boston as their priority.
We invite anyone who would like to support the foundation without committing to attending the October event to donate through this website. Your generosity is so greatly appreciated and goes toward a wonderful cause! Sponsorship levels are detailed below.
Please note that this website is not intended for ticket sales; a separate EventBrite page will be set up solely for the purpose of purchasing tickets to the event.
THANK YOU so very much for your continued support!!
