Todd's Battle

Todd was recently diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of his neck. He noticed a lump about 5 weeks ago and immediately saw his physician. After all of the referrals and testing he has chosen to have his treatment at Sanford in Sioux Falls where they specialize in head and neck cancer. He has a great team of physicians who feel the best treatment options are to do a chemo/radiation combo. Todd also qualified to participate in an Immunotherapy trial along with the treatment. It is believed to increase his survival rate to 93%. Todd's treatment course will run Monday-Friday for a total of 7 weeks which means we drive back and forth everyday during this time (3 hours & 200 miles daily). We are starting this page as a way of assisting with transportation costs and medical expenses. Todd will be off work for at least 4 months during this battle. He had his port placed this week for chemo and a feeding tube placed to be used when the radiation starts affecting his taste and ability to swallow.
