Flood Relief for Michael Bacigalupi

On the weekend of August 13th, over two feet of rain fell in the Baton Rouge area and flooded countless towns and neighborhoods. One of the hardest hit areas was Denham Springs were 90% of the 10,000 residents homes were inundated with water. One of those residents was one of ChemTreat’s own Michael Bacigalupi and his family (wife Debra, son Austin and daughter Caitlyn). With the floodwaters coming into their home without warning, there was no time to prepare. They were rescued, moved to a shelter and eventually picked up by a friend.
When the water receded, they returned to their home to see the devastation. Essentially, everything they own is a complete loss being ruined by the flood waters. It is hard to imagine what that means until you either live it or see it. The rebuilding of a home and a life for the family is a daunting task.
Mike’s family has short term needs such as clothing and longer term needs such as everything else you can think of that is in your house. They will essentially be starting from scratch as they put the pieces back together.
Michael has been with ChemTreat for just over one year and works for us at Nucor Louisiana. Numerous people within ChemTreat have contacted me the past week asking how they can donate to help out a fellow coworker.
