Lindsey and Greg's baby fund

Some mountains shouldn't be climbed alone. We are stronger and safer when we are together on the journey.

This is a picture of our burden being shared as we prepare to cross the rain flooded stream to continue our journey.

Lindsey and I can't have kids, (the natural way).  We have been trying for over two years ever since we got married. We have paid for surguries in Texas and specialists in Fullerton. We have cried and prayed and researched and counseled with friends and family about how to proceed. But still no pregnancy.

So now here we are. Where is that?
IVF = Invitro Fertilization.

We have spoken with a Dr. who specilizes in fertilization problems, attended seminar's and read books on how to get pregnant and IVF seems like the last resort for us.

For those who want more intimate details, the technical problem is on my, Greg's, side of the equation. Lindsey is very healthy and fertile. Greg's swimmers are all sitting on the bench, unable to get in the pool. Add to that the age difference between us which leads to a call for help.

We are working with Dr. Potter,  from the HRC fertility clinic (http://www.havingbabies.com/) We have completed all the preliminary testing steps to ensure that we are good candidates and finally we have a timeline to launch.

Most dates are firm but variable depending on how Lindsey's body reacts and cycles.
May 3---Egg count (prep for harvest)
May 9---Final consult with Dr. re Sperm retrieval
PAYMENT in full REQUIRED by June 1
June 1---Start hormone therapy to grow eggs
July 1---Harvest eggs/ Sperm and combine in the Petri dish playhouse
July 6/7 genetic testing and determination of viability
July 8/9 IMPLANT and wait
July 17 determine if pregnancy is successful

It's scary just to see this in print. Up till now we have been talking and talking. Now we are getting closer to game day. It's also scary to be public about this journey. It is still true that we are stronger when we are together but all my life I prefer to be the helping side of the 'together' not the 'needing' side of together. It's uncomfortable, in a vulernable embarrassing kind of way.

So here is what we are trying to raise. 27,000.00
The reason is, we have been denied coverage for fertility treatments thus far. This is an out of pocket expense. The total bill is affected by many factors including how invasive the sperm retreival surgery needs to be, how effective the hormone therapy is, how many eggs are harvested and how healthy they are and how many trips around the carousel we have to take. So far we are  7,000.00 into the commitment to be new parents.

Please consider helping us financially or in any way you can. Thank you for reading and considering.
Sincerely,

 Lindsey and Greg
