Youth Musical Marketing and Product

Hi, Thanks for taking the time to read this. I’m Reaching out to my friends, colleagues, former employers, employees and family to ask if any of you would be willing to join me on a musical adventure I’ve been pursuing for a very long time.
I am in the last stages of the development of a musical written for young people that is heading into its third full production this summer. My goal is to make presentations to major studios and other significant media outlets for worldwide distribution. Since my time here in Los Angeles, I have made inroads to major studios and alternative media outlets and making the best first impression is essential. To do this, I have launched this gofundme page to keep up the momentum. Here’s where you come in.
I've been invited to Shoreline Players Theatre in Oscoda Michigan to Direct the musical I've written which they produced with their youth program two years ago. We are providing a five-week summer program for over thirty kids and your contributions will help make the experience even more memorable because it will pay for support staff, marketing, printing, videotaping, photography, upgraded website and a thousand other things.
Why? A few reasons. What kind of messages are being sent out into the world, especially to young people who are looking for ways to navigate life in very challenging times? The time has come for some new messages; some new ways to address the themes of collaboration, teamwork, friendship, competition, success and failure, love, creativity and courage. ‘Curtain Call the Musical…the story begins before the curtain rises’ has a proven track record of doing just that. It’s a show where kids play the role of kids. It meets them at their emotional landscape and the entire audience of all ages connects to the show. I’ve witnessed it first hand with repeated standing ovations and high ranking survey answers. It’s a message that needs to be out in the world.
Why? I’m aiming high because after years of working in the world of independent filmmaking all the while writing and performing my own material along the way, I understand the power of music, meaning and message on a small scale and on a worldwide platform.
Why? The good news is, we are awakening to the belief that what we think and believe, comes true. I believe we don’t have to sit on the sidelines and do nothing about the bombardment of fear-based messages, discouragement, corruption and negativity.
Why? We need support to have the show’s next production staff get paid; produce a bounded book copy of the songs that are in the play, printing, marketing, legal, travel, studio time, travel, lead sheets for new songs, etc. I’m also in the process of compiling a book of lyrics from other projects and will be making that available as well.
Why? The summer program in Michigan didn’t get a grant it applied for and twenty-five to thirty-five kids will have a positive life-changing experience as we conduct a summer theatre program and birth a production of the show.
Why? I will be traveling to Michigan and Directing the latest version of the show and will be facilitating the summer theatre camp with the help of some very dedicated and talented colleagues.
Why? A testimonial from Sue Miller, Shoreline Theatre. “This musical fits the bill for what a youth program can accomplish. The story is a simple enough premise, a show about putting on a show, yet Curtain Call, The Musical takes the idea and blends in meaningful, funny, toe-tapping and memorable songs that anyone who has ever been a child can relate to immediately. Not only are the songs memorable and catchy, (I was tapping my foot), the kids in the show were terrific. They were obviously dedicated to the material because they could relate to it on a real-time, real-world level.”
When? Now is perfect. If you can contribute now it keeps up the momentum moving forward. As soon as you are comfortable with sending your contribution, we will all be very grateful.
If you want to take a look at some of what we've done so far, go to www.curtaincallthemuscial.com
On another note: I’ve spent six years working on this show, (it took Hamilton seven to get on stage) so we’re right on time.
Whether we get a big company to come on board or we get this message out from a grass-roots effort, I, and the people who have helped me along the way are committed to moving this musical forward.
Thank you so much and I appreciate your support.
Please help us get the show on the road.
Thank you.
