Dr. Joyce Total Loss in Baton Rouge
I (Eddie Hamilton, Columbus, Ohio) have been asked by the person involved in this campaign and am writing this for my multi-decade friend, Dr. Joyce Turner Keller who lives in Baton Rouge, Louisiana a ( grandmother and HIV+ advocate) who has lost everything but her spirit and optimism due to the Louisiana Floods. Her house had water to the ceiling in her home for 5-6 straight days. When the water had receded , it was quite evident that the house and its contents were a total loss.
The Salvation Army, , churches and other places where one could for assistance are wiped out as well or not open as many of those establishments had employees in the affected areas so those options are out!
With over 100,000 victims affected across the area, FEMA is backed up to no end and needs for basic food and other basic living necessities are immediate so anything that you can contribute will be of immediate assistance.
For a price of a cocktail or fast food lunch , you can someone out in desparite legitimate need.
I never have put one of these out, put in this case it is truly a human emergency for a person who always helps others and now it is her turn.
Thank you in advance.
