Run for a Cure: My First Marathon Ever!
My Journey
I am about to embark on a fantastic journey, and I need your help!
I will complete the 2013 Napa to Sonoma Half Marathon on July 21st to help find a cure for Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis.
My first Marathon Ever!
As a first time runner I will be sharing my challenges and triumphs as I
embark on this new adventure. My best friend Amber will be joining me
in helping to raise awareness and funds to find a cure for Crohn's
Disease and Ulcerative Colitis.
We are four weeks into training and up to 6 Miles. I found out I have tendinitis in right hip, so learning how to run and take care of my body has been a challenge.
It is only the beginning but I have already met and made amazing friends that are personally affected by Crohn's.
What are Crohn's and Colitis?
Crohn's disease is a chronic disorder that causes inflammation of the digestive or gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Ulcerative colitis on the other hand, affects only the colon. Both diseases are painful, seldom-discussed lifelong conditions.
I Hope That:
* The 1.4 million people affected by IBD won't feel ashamed of their disease, will get diagnosed faster, and will have access to better resources.
*I will help new Team Challenge participants cross the finish line with successful fundraising & training.
*I will find a treatment that allows people who are personally affected to manage their symptoms while they wait for a cure to be found.
*You will pass this page on to one person in your network
*You will donate to this awesome cause!
Together We Can Make a Difference!
As a member of Team Challenge, I have a coach, a training program, and
teammates to support me. I have committed to a training schedule that
ensures I will run or walk my way to success, and I've pledged to raise
$3,200 in donations to The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America.
I AM MOTIVATED! I AM COMMITTED! I WILL DO IT!
The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America
is committed to improving the lives of children and adults with these
diseases, and so am I! Please help support this important cause by
giving generously.

Special Dedication
This season I am dedicating my race to my mentor Holly who is battling Crohn's Disease. She is an inspiration to me through her endless energy, positive attitude, and perseverance. This season I will complete 13.1 miles, mentor, and fundraise for CCFA in her honor.
