Mark Mayer's Recovery Fund

Mark Mayer is an Army Veteran.  He served in the Gulf War and the Iraq War and is now retired after 20 years and working for the US Post Office.  He recently had a heart attack followed by a quadruple bypass open-heart surgery on July 19th.  Fortunately, his medical bills are covered by the VA. However, his family is in desperate need of help with living expenses.  Just a week before his heart attack he spent pretty much his entire savings on emergency home repairs such as new air-conditioner ( he lives in Killeen, Texas) among other things.  He will be totally out of money in 3 weeks.  He has several co-workers that are donating vacation days so he can take the necessary time off without losing his job.  He needs to be off work for 3-4 months to get healthy and strong enough to return.
