Mike being the sweetheart that he is surprised his girlfriend, Jordan with a trip to Hawaii for her birthday. On their last day in Hawaii, they went to Sandy Beach where a lot of the locals go to hit the tide, surf and boogie board. On his last run, the tide swept him under, knocked his head back, and immediately broke his neck.
As of now, Mike has a complete C1 and C2 spinal injury. This means that he has very little chance of regaining mobility or feeling from his neck down and will require a breathing tube for the rest of his life.
