MelaNOma CANCER

Hi, my name is Kelli Schacht.
I am a wife and a mother of two elementary aged boys. My story is not unusual, nor is it complete. I still have so many more chapters I need to write and live out. In July of this year I saw a suspicious spot on my body, and like most, I was watching and monitoring it. I quickly became aware that it was changing and growing. Panicked, I went to the Doctor and they biopsied it and a week later I was on the receiving end of a sucker punch to the gut. My worst fears came true. I heard the Doctor tell me “you have malignant melanoma”. My head was spinning, I couldn’t catch my breath, I felt as if my whole world was spiraling out of control. Things moved quickly as my melanoma was bigger in size than most peoples (6mm). They scheduled me for surgery and I will be unable to work for some time.
For those that know me, know that I rarely, if ever, ask for help. I am usually the one to give help to anyone or any animal that needs it, even if I have to go without something. This is one time that I NEED help. We have, due to other circumstances gotten behind on our bills and the thought of not working to make the money needed to provide for my family is a huge concern for me and my husband.
The future of what this disease is going to do to our family is not certain, we have a long journey ahead of us, but I pray that God will heal me and strengthen me and I can get back to life as I knew it before.
My family appreciates any and all help you can give us to get us through this tough time.
