Dear family and friends, loved ones and kind strangers ~
With great humility, I am reaching out in hope.
As some of you may know, I have been quite ill since last November. After a hospital stay and many diagnostic tests and procedures, I learned that I have a diaphragmatic abnormality that allows my stomach to move into my chest cavity. This condition affects the functionality of my digestive tract, airway and lungs, heart and nervous system. It causes difficulty with eating, sleeping and other daily activities in addition to significant ongoing pain. I have consulted with several specialists here in Seattle, and the only surgical option available at this time is not recommended due to high failure rate and severe lasting side effects. I have been advised to seek a newer procedure that is now routinely used in Switzerland, Austria, Germany and the UK. The surgery has excellent results and a nearly 100 percent success rate, with patients quickly returning to living normal lives. After discussing my case with doctors there I have been approved for the surgery in Austria, but I will need to pay out-of-pocket and travel to Europe for treatment.
To this end, I am throwing my hands out to the universe and humbly asking for financial help to make this happen.
I have prayed and meditated over this request. The deep vulnerability we share as human beings has profoundly affected me through this time. I’m hoping for the chance to make a full recovery, and I am committed to dedicating my life to helping others. I will pay the debt forward a thousand times over.
In love, respect and forever gratitude,
