Bob's Medical and Living Expenses
Donation protected
My son, Bob, has been fighting an autoimmune attack named Wegener's Disease and vasculitis.
He was hospitalized in June, July and August, including three terrible, heart-wrenching weeks in a coma.
His kidneys were operating at 3%, his lungs were hemmoraging internally, his skin was covered with blisters, there were vegetative growths on his heart, and he had no use of his limbs.
But his self-determination, medical knowledge and excellent care, and the prayers of so many friends and relatives have pulled him through the 10% chance of survival that he was given.
Today he is recuperating at home with three weekly visits each from a visiting nurse, a physical therapist and an occupational therapist. His strength, stamina, voice and use of his limbs are improving, and he is slowly regaining the 30% body weight he lost, mostly due to muscle atrophy.
The doctors predict he will not be able to return to work for a few more months. That makes six or more months without income.
Although his employer has been very supportive throughout this ordeal, you can imagine how Bob's living expenses are piling up (mortgage, utilities, taxes, etc.), and we haven't yet seen the bills from the hospital, specialists, therapists, lab work and more.
We certainly do not want anyone to feel obligated to participate in this, but every dollar will be greatly appreciated.
On behalf of Bob, I thank you,
Tom Charlton
