Jade Murray is 30 years old. At age 5 she was diagnosed with a mental and learning disability. Specialist told my mom she wouldn't be able to communicate nor comprehend beyond a 7 year old even in her adulthood. Later, studies classified her disability as Autism.
Living with autism Jade has accomplished so much: Graduating high school in the special education program, working at a supervised daycare, applying and getting her own apartment and newly becoming a mother to a beautiful baby girl named Abigail Grace. Beating the odds specialist said she could never beat.
Today, we have come across a surprising new detrimental battle. Two weeks ago Jade was diagnosed with HLH ( Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis). HLH is a cancer-like very rare blood disease that has caused Jade's liver to fail. Treatment includes: chemotherapy, bone marrow transplant, steroids, blood transfusions, even a liver transplant. Right now, she is receiving care at one of the local hospitals here in Louisiana were they are doing the very best in their academic experience to help save her life.
Recently, we were told they do not expect Jade to live.
We want to challenge that!!! We are working with the doctors here in Louisiana to tranfer Jade to a more highly academic hospital that has specialized in many success stories in recovery from the HLH disease. Unfortunately, the best hospitals are located out of state. Jade cannot transfer out of state solely with her insurance. It is a very difficult financial process. We have to relocate. She will need to become a sponsored or donated patient to help her transfer.
The facilitating hospitals that we want to work with include:
1. Cincinnati Children's Hospital
2. The Methosdist Houston
3. MD Anderson Cancer Center
Today we are asking for your help! Please help us raise enough awareness and donations to get the process started into saving her life. We believe each seed sowed will be the foundation to receiving the help that she really needs.
