Help a SC deputy sheriff

Josh Cerone is a Deputy Sheriff employed with Dorchester County Sheriff's Office in Summerville, South Carolina. On the night of August 28th, 2016 Deputy Cerone was called to respond to a disorderly individual in the Old Fort estates subdivision in the Ladson area of Dorchester County. Upon arriving to the call, Deputy Cerone encountered a subject that was being disorderly, was naked in public and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Deputy Cerone attempted to reason with this subject but could not verbally de escalate the subject. Deputy Cerone then went to place the subject under arrest at which time the subject struck Deputy Cerone in his left eye, breaking several bones in his orbital portion of his face. Even though injured and blind in his left eye, Deputy Cerone continued to perform his oath bound duties and effected the arrest. After the arrest, Deputy Cerone was taken to the hospital where he had surgery that night for the broken bones in his face.

Deputy Cerone is on leave and does not know when he will be able to return to work due to his injuries. We are trying to raise funds so that he may support himself while he is healing from this injury.
