Life changing HSCT Treatment for MS
Donation protected
Hi my name is Rayanne and I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis a week after I turned just 22.
It took a few years to be diagnosed and due to covid it took even longer. I was having relapses multiple times every single year with doctors telling me I’m just crazy or that I was fine and to go home but I was losing my mobility in my legs so fast.
In 2021 I had a huge relapse which left me paralysed from the waist down and stuck in my bedroom for half a year. I genuinely thought that was the end..
My last effort to save myself was trying to get into Musgrave Park Hospital in the neurology ward in belfast which thankfully I did as I called and got speaking to who I deem an absolute Angel who saved my life and stayed there from February until July of 2022. The neurologists and doctors told me they didn’t know or think I would ever walk again but I was much too stubborn for that!
I worked so hard every single day with private physios and got to a place where I could walk short distances with an aid again. With all the spare time I had there I truly believe I found myself, my confidence and who I truly am.. which is not someone who gives up.. EVER!
I am now on an infusion based treatment that I get twice a year called Ocrevus and I am very grateful but I’ve stalled and I’m no longer getting any better then what I am at.
WHAT IS HSCT?
HSCT or Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation is a treatment for autoimmune diseases such as MS - Multiple Sclerosis that has proven to halt the disease progression.
The aim of the entire HSCT treatment process is to stop the immune system from causing damage of the myelin so that proper electrical conduction within the nervous system is restored. In addition to the halting of the underlying autoimmune disease, the reinstatement of appropriate healthy signaling from nerves to muscles often results in clinical and symptomatic improvement.
- I have created a project called “Room to Bloom” as I feel we all have the room to bloom in our lives and with that I started creating something beautiful as a thank you and a token of my external gratitude to those who wish to support me on this scary, exciting and most importantly LIFE CHANGING journey.
I will be travelling to Clinica Ruiz in Puebla Mexico for this treatment as it is not only the best in the world but also the cheapest. It is a 28 day intensive inpatient programme where I will first undergo intensive chemotherapy to kill off the immune cells that are attacking my system followed by then having my own healthy stem cells transplanted back in so that the body no longer remembers it has MS.
Please if you can donate and share this page and as gofundme take a percentage of all donations made I will be trying my best with my flower bouquets from room to bloom to make up that extra cost.
If for any reason I am unable to reach my goal or receive this treatment all donations will be refunded and/or go to an MS charity as well as any additional funds donated once the goal is reached.
Thank you so much for helping to give me my life and health back!! ❤️
