Funeral services for Raul Garcia
As some of you may know, my brother Raul has passed away. He took his own life on Monday after dealing with anxiety and depression for several years. We can't begin to imagine what he was feeling or what pushed him to such extremes. Unfortunately, he has left us with a huge hole in our hearts. His departure has made our days grayer and duller. He was a light in my life and I don't know how I'll ever surpass this. He wasn't just my brother, he has my autistic son's favorite uncle, his godfather, and most trusted babysitter. He leaves behind grieving parents who are still trying to make sense of this tragedy. He has left 2 nephews who loved him with all their tiny hearts and another nephew on the way who will never know the sound of his laughter. He leaves behind 3 siblings who only wanted the best for him and supported him in all his endeavors. He was an active member of the gay community who was never afraid to be all he was. In attempts to cover his funeral costs my family and I are reaching out to friends and family so that we may be able to give him a proper service. Anything is appreciated. We need to gather as much money as we can by Sunday. My parents and I are so grateful to everyone who can contribute. We understand times are tough so anything counts! Thank you so much to everyone who has reached out to us and who continue to be a beacon of light in these dark times.
