HELP MAKE A BOY’S DREAM COME TRUE
I am a hockey mom for the past 10 years. I recently was made aware that there was a boy, Joey Scott, who has been trying diligently to be on my son’s team, but due to circumstances out of his control, he could not be. Joey lives and breathes hockey so much, that he even works @ our rink to stay close to hockey and help his mom. He is one of four boys his mom adopted on her own. He has been practicing and practicing year after year but never able to be on a team due to the prohibitive cost. Joey is a senior in high school, which means it’s his last year to be on a hockey team that he has been dreaming about for years. Hockey is an extremely expensive sport and the L.A. Kings High School Hockey League where he lives in Santa Clarita, Ca. is the only opportunity.
When I see Joey and how passionate he is about hockey and how he shares his dream with me, my heart goes out to him. I do believe that all children should have the opportunity to realize their dreams!! The season kicks off in two weeks and these funds would be put towards his registration and dues to join the team for the 2016-2017 season. Here is Joey’s story in his own words:
My name is Joseph Stott and I'm 17 and I'm currently trying to play hockey for Santa Clarita. It's my last year of high school and I've never been apart of an organized sport before because I didn't have a lot of money. So this year I've been trying to get two jobs to play hockey and help my mom with rent. I owe my mom a lot with the little we have she still finds a way to help me even at the age of 70. She adopted me when I was two I was taken away from my birth mom when I was two days old and was on the way of being very sick and ill because she did drugs when she was pregnant with me and my adopted mom wanted to help me a long with 3 other kids. So I just want to do something to make her proud that she didn't waste her time on me that I can be something big and hockey is the path I have chosen to do so. So all I ask is you help me out to live a dream I never got to do for 17 years and make my mom proud of me. Thank you, Joey Stott
I am asking you as friends and family to do whatever you can because every amount counts from $5. and up!! Please help me to make Joey’s dream a reality and that maybe this could even catapult him into playing hockey in college. This could be a new beginning for Joey!!
