Hayley Hill Scoliosis Surgery Fund

My niece Hayley is beautiful in so many ways. In her 14 years she has already been expressing this beauty through creating stunning artwork, singing, playing the tuba, laughing with her siblings, serving others in time of need, and so much more. This past year she was diagnosed with Scoliosis that rapidly has been bringing physical pain and heartache to her once very active body, making it difficult to do a lot of the things she loves.
Her parents have talked to many doctors and therapists and found surgery to be necessary. However, shortly after meeting with the surgeon, Hayley's dad, Ben, was suddenly laid off from his good paying job of many years.
Surgery has been scheduled for October 21 in New Jersey. This surgery is non-traditional and was chosen because of its reputation for having less side-affects (than fusion/rod surgery) and will allow for more growth as Hayley ages. Insurance from Ben's job will still be available for a few weeks and will cover most of the hospital stay, but very little of the extremely high surgeon fees (especially for a family of 6 who recently learned they have no income). The cost will be $60,000 and due within 4 months of surgery. There will also be travel costs on top of all of this (approx. $5,000). It is critical that the surgery is done soon because the curve in Hayley's spine is growing very rapidly (recently measured at a severe 83 degrees).
The surgery will likely make the curve straight and prevent complete spinal collapse, plus protect internal organs. It will also allow her to do activities she once enjoyed without pain.
I know any financial help offered would greatly bless Hayley's family.
There have been many tears shed as a result of the pain, but there has also been a greater awareness of the presence of a very loving God.
With love and appreciation,
Heather Jansky
I am confident, as this verse says (Isaiah 40:5), that "the glory of the Lord will be revealed" through this challenging time for them as they seek to know Christ more and allow joy to grow in them through the trials (James 1:2-8).
