Chuck's Bone Marrow Trans. Expenses
Donation protected
Hello from Mojave Chuck and Susan Robison,
This is a little awkward since we are usually on the giving end and have not had to ask for any financial help with Chuck's previous Chemotherapy expenses.
Many of you may know us personally, but others may not. Here is what has happened and what the future holds for us.
My husband, your friend, your Brother "Chuck" was diagnosed with Stage 3 Defused B Cell Non Hodgkins Lymphoma last year.
Normally this type of treatable cancer can be cured with about 6 rounds of chemotherapy. Well, Chuck's cancer is very, very aggressive! After 6 rounds of chemotherapy is was still active. Chuck recieved 2 more rounds of chemo making it 8 rounds.
In June we were told the cancer was gone! Yay! Thank you Jesus!
Then, in July, Chuck noticed that a lump was forming in his lymph node area. He visited the Doctor and we were told the cancer has returned. It is spreading fast and very aggressive.
His Oncologist has started him back on Chemo and has referred him to the City of Hope for a bone marrow transplant. This process will be performed in Los Angeles, where Chuck will be hospitalized for 3-6 weeks and then have to stay within 30 minutes of the hospital, with a full time caregiver, until his cells have grafted and he is strong enough to go home. This process will take several months. Recovery is expected to take a year or longer.
We have Kaiser Insurance through my employer, so almost all of our medical bills are covered. That's not the problem. The problem is that Chuck hasn't been able to work for over a year and possiby another year and a half before he can even try to begin to work again, if at all.
The expenses of traveling to doctor appointments, labs and testing, hotel rooms, gas, food and unpaid time off from my work has depleted our savings.
If I'm not working, we have no income for our regular expenses, let alone these additional costs.
We understand that everyone has their own financial issues and if you can't help, we understand.
If you can help, even at a very minimum, we would be so greatful for your contribution.
Thank you and have a Blessed day,
Chuck and Susan Robison
