Erin (Tonsor) Green, wife of Jimmy and mom to Ella, 6, was faced with life threatening complications while in labor with her second daughter, Blakely, on August 23rd. A couple of hours into labor she had, what doctors believe to be, an amniotic embolism (a very rare and often fatal event) during which she became unresponsive and stopped breathing. She delivered a 10 pound 3 oz baby girl via emergency c-section. Blakely Sue was taken to Cardinal Glennon Hospital due to the complications during labor and remained in the NICU for observation. She was released 5 days later. Erin has been in critical condition in the ICU since. She faces neurological injury from the embolism. She has just recently started to open her eyes. Doctors are hopeful for her recovery, but she will have a very long road ahead of her. Her family has been by her side and will continue to support her through out her recovery, however there are, of course, extra expenses. Erin is self employed and will not be able to work for some time as she rehabilitates.
More important than monetary donations are prayers for Erin. She needs every prayer she can get so she can soon return home and be a family of four with her husband and two daughters.
Erin's family has not asked for financial assistance, but family and friends continue to ask what they can do to help. If you want to give a monetary donation, there is an account linked here that will go directly to the family. If you choose not to use GoFundMe, there is a account set up at Jersey State Bank in Jerseyville, IL. Donations can be left there under the "Erin Green Benefit Account".
