Help Larry & Julie w/ medical costs

Hi,
We are Edd & Kathy Kubik, cousins of Larry & Julie Nelson. We are asking for donations for Larry & Julie, due to their increasing medical problems. Larry has had muscular dystrophy, a chronic degenerative disease for 63 years. He has always done the most that he can for himself and his family. His disease has been progressing and he now needs help to accomplish all of his needs. Although he has had this chronic problem, his positive attitude and deep faith have made him a person that doesn’t complain, but lifts the spirits of all of us. Julie, his wife of 42 years has cared for him continuously, while they both made sure the needs of both of their late mothers were met. Julie needs shoulder surgery, which will make it impossible for her to care for Larry for four months, according to her doctor. I plan to come and help for three weeks, but the remainder of the time they will need in home help, which is very costly (approximately $6000/month). They have spent most of their retirement fund paying for the equipment needed for Larry’s care. Insurance (medicare) does not pay for any of this equipment or in home or nursing home care. The donations we are requesting will be used to pay for this full time care until Julie can do it on her own again. The alternative is that Larry would need to spend his remaining days in a nursing care facility, paid for by selling their home of 31 years. They so want to stay together in their home.
We would be forever thankful for any financial help you can give them. These are two truly wonderful people who deserve nothing but our respect, love, care and prayers.
