Single dad looking for help.
Firstly, I'm a newly single father of three awesome and amazing kids. My oldest is 11, my middle child is 9, and my youngest is 4. I spent the past 8 years as a stay-at-home dad, not only to be able to spend time with my kids but also so my wife, at the time, could advance her military career. It's just what worked best for us at that point.
Well a little over a year ago I found out that my wife had cheated on me and that she wanted a divorce. After about a year of trying to work with her and trying to hold the marriage together, she filed for divorce, got her own place, and moved out, and right before our lease was up. On top of all that, our landlord wanted to sell the house that the kids and I lived in at the time and wanted us out asap.
It's been tough, but I've been able to maintain primary custody of my children. Between school and caring for my 4-year-old autistic son, I haven't been able to get a job just yet.
Fortunately, I recently completed school and will be getting my certification for pharmacy technician soon, so the job hunt is on. However, until that's secured I've been living off of credit cards and I can't get any more assistance from the banks or the military.
So we're looking for help with legal fees. My retainer with my lawyer is nearly depleted and it's important that I maintain my lawyer for the remainder of the custody battle, since the current custody order is only temporary.
Any help we can get will go a long way towards me keeping my kids where they are. Any amount would mean so much to all of us. My children mean the world to me and I just want them to have a good start to an already difficult new beginning.
