Connie's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Connie was admitted to the hospital Sunday August 7th with a severe intestinal infection. Doctors had hopes of treating the infection with very strong antibiotics, and placement of a drain to remove fluid from two large abscess that developed from the infection. Unfortunately after 10 days in the hospital the doctors discovered neither intervention had worked, and the infection not only didn’t improve, but had gotten worse.
Wednesday August 17th, Connie underwent emergency surgery to remove the infection from her intestines, pelvis, and abdominal cavity- by the grace of God it was thankfully successful- but due to the severity of the surgery and the stress on body she was intubated after and has since woken up and has started her very long road to recovery from the initial infection and surgery.
Unfortunately, when going through routine scans for her infection a large mass was discovered in her breast, and she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Connie has a long road to recovery and treatment from both the infection and now breast cancer.
Connie is a widow who has raised two kids Nick & Amber alone since her husband and their dad passed in September of 2005. If there is one word that comes to mind for anyone who knows Connie it would be strength- she is a loving grandma to two kids and one on the way- she is a devoted pre-k teacher and has changed the lives of many kids in the last 10 years.
She spent 1.5 years taking care of her dying husband, raised two teenagers alone, and has battled many of life’s obstacles alone. Please show Connie she isn’t alone now and has support, love, and an army behind her as she goes down this very difficult road to recovery.
Any donation small or large can help take the worry of financial stress away due to medical bills, and being unable to work during this very difficult time.
