My beautiful niece Heaven suffers from horrible asthma, she has been in and out of the hospital throughout her young life for this disease. It has been a couple of years since she was admitted in to the hospital, we all thought she was finally over that hurdle.
Last Saturday she was not feeling well, and thought she was just getting a little cold. Well that cold along with being surrounded by a few wildfires (which we tend to get here in California.) triggered a severe asthma attack for her. She was taken to the Hopsital Sunday morning when she woke up and could not breathe. After having quite a few attacks and the Drs. not being able to stabilize her, they decided to transfer her. She was transferred to another hospital a hour away via helicopter that was better equipped to help her. While in the helicopter alone in and out of consciousness , she had another attack and very close to be intubated.
Heaven has been in the Pedriatic ICU since last Sunday. We're praying that she will recover quickly and finally come home to her family and friends. We are asking for you to help her family with anything you can, Heaven is the youngest of 5 so any amount will help. Both of her parents are with her at the hospital day and night (both of course missing work). Luckily they were given a St. Jude cottage from the hospital for a few days for them to take turns to shower and get a little more sleep.
