Our Jen's Flood Fund
Donation protected
My name is Dawn Thomas and I am telling this story on behalf of Jennie Borum whose garage apartment home was flooded by Hurricane Hermine. This is a heartfelt plea by her work family going out to all folks who believe in caring for one another in our greatest times of need. Our dear friend, Jennie, lives in Crystal River, Florida, and was displaced by the massive flood waters of Hurricane Hermine. She was rescued by a good samaritan's motorized rowboat while waiting atop her vehicle's roof.
Two weeks prior to the flood, Jennie lost her husband and best friend, Kenny Borum, to a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Our friend, Jennie, is truly a gift from God. She serves others endlessly with her beautiful smile, genuine and sincere personality, and the love and compassion she has for everyone. Jennie has worked many, many years with our special needs residents and truly makes a difference in the lives of all who surround her on a daily basis.
Her Faith and spirit carry her forward despite such overwhelming and personal loss.
Jennie and her late husband, Kenny, had no insurance on their humble abode that they called home. All her memories reside in that structure and that is where she longs to get back to as soon as possible.
We want to make that wish come true for her. Donations would greatly help in repairing what can be salvaged and replacing items that were destroyed. Jennie needs appliances, furniture, clothing and other items to help it feel like home again.
We wish for Jennie a renewed sense of hope and strength. Please consider donating to Jennie's cause.
Thank you and God bless you! Always keep the faith!
