Scoliosis Spinal Fusion
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Hope and I'm fundraising for my mom. Since my mom was very young, she's had severe scoliosis. As she's aged, its taken away her ability to do so many things. Once a D1 Track & Field captain at Northeastern University, she lost her ability to run several years ago due to the joint popping in her lower back that increased in pain with every stride she took. I've watched my upbeat, lively mom turn into a woman in constant and agonizing pain every minute of every day.
My mom is 50 days away from a scheduled spinal fusion, which will place a metal rod in her back to fix the 60 degree curve of her spine, relieving her of the crippling pain she is in. Once this surgery is completed, my mom will no longer live off of medication and wince in pain every time she moves. Insurance refuses to cover this expensive surgery and, without any financial help, the surgery cannot be done for my mom. If left untreated, the 60 degree curve will inveitably lead to my mom's heart and lungs losing their ability to function.
If you know anything about me, you know that my mom is my best friend. She's all I've ever had and while SHE would never ask for help, I'll ask for her. Any donation made will go directly toward this ultimately life saving surgery for my mom. My mom has a lot left to do and even more to accomplish. If there is any way you can help, even if it is just a penny, our family would be so beyond appreciative.
My brother Michael and I have watched our mom struggle in unbelievable ways, and neither of us can bare the thought of her life being cut short because of something like this. 2023 has been a hard year for everyone and for so many reasons, so if you would be able to help at all we would appreciate it so very much.
Thank you so much.
