This poignant narrative recounts the journey of a resilient young Black woman who triumphed over adversity in the Federal Way community. Despite the challenges posed by limited resources and insufficient funding for additional support in public schools, compounded by the absence of college-educated parents, she forged her path from high school to a nearby community college. There, she embraced an opportunity within a program that provided invaluable support and avenues for growth, exploration, learning, leadership, and inspiration—a foundation upon which to build a promising future for herself and her prospective family. Tragically, her life was cut short prematurely, leaving behind a plethora of unanswered questions. Now, we must bid her farewell as we lay her to rest in her hometown of Arkansas.
