2ND CHANCE FOR AUSTRALIAN WILDLIFE
Donation protected
KANGAROOS - WOMBAT - DINGOS - BIRDS
If you want to help our animals, all of them injured or orphaned, our fundraising compaign for our not-for profit sanctuary is made for you.
URALLA WILDLIFE SANCTUARY is a not-for profit organization that aims to save Australian wildlife, located in Western Australia.
We mainly rescue kangaroos which have lost their mothers in a car accident or through injury.
We also have 1 wombat, 3 dingos and multiple birds.
Your donation helps us to cover our expenses and run this beautiful place for animals. A place like Uralla ("Our Home" in Aboriginal language) costs monthly roughly $2500.
KANGAROOS
Our kangaroos arrive here as babies or infants and are raised by a human mother who gives them 2 to 6 bottles of milk a day depending on their age. Once they are big enough, they start to eat various grains and hay.
We have approximately 40 kangaroos we feed with a bottle and another 20 almost ready to be released. We also provide a permanent home for some kangaroos, who for various reasons are unable to be released.
* Milk = $550/month
* Grain/Hay = $700/month
WOMBAT
Our wombat Lopsie was rescued from a zoo because she has one ear missing and was "not good enough" to be shown to the public.
* Food (fruits, sultanas, peanut, cereals) = $100/month
DINGOS
We have 3 dingos, Ned, Kelly and Nibbler, rescued when they were puppies. They eat meat and dog biscuits.
* Food =$150/month
BIRDS
We have all sort of birds like Magpies, Parrots, Kookaburras, Tawny Frogmouths, Corella,Galah... Found as babies, abandoned by their mothers, injured (broken wings) or blind, they have found in Uralla a place to survive or recover.
Birds food = $150/month
Injured or disabled animals need specialised veterinary care, medication and medical supplies (bandages, antiseptic...). It costs at the moment around $400/month.
And of course, a lot more expenses like gas to heat up the bottles, fuel to go and buy food (nearest town 45 minutes away), fuel for the tractor. ..
