Back packs of hope

My name is Lynn and I believe in giving back. Giving back to the community, giving to those less fortunate. I don't have much, but I've realized I don't need much to give a little.

My friends and I would like to collect 20 back packs, fill them with socks, hats, mitts, toiletries, water bottles, snacks, small gifts and gift cards. We would like to assemble 10 for women and 10 for men and distribute them to the homeless in Toronto in early December.

I have a few back packs already, hat and scarf sets for men, some toiletries and plenty of warm socks for the ladies. I also have some awesome friends who will be able to donate more of the same. The funds raised in this campaign will go towards purchasing the remaining goods needed as well as gift cards. I'd like to enclose 2 $10 gift cards in each pack, one for McDonalds, one for Tim Hortons (this may change). I'd really like to enclose 2 $20 gift cards, but that may not be feasible.

I have been collecting clothing, toiletries, diapers, etc and donating to a local First Nation womens shelter for the past few months, given random gifts to strangers at Christmas and I'm in the process of sending goods up to our First Nations neighbours to the north.

I believe we can make a difference, even for just 20 people.
