VALLEJO WOMAN ASSAULT RECOVERY FUND
Donation protected
On or about Friday, Mar. 9 (from local reports, Vallejo Times-Herald, and others), a brutal assault among Vallejo's homeless, left a local woman in urgent and compassionate need of community assistance. Police told the news, that my friend was attacked along with others, with 'an axe or sword', resulting in "severe injuries to her arms". After five years living in downtown Vallejo, I may honestly add, "love did not create that disaster." My friend, who survived, will need urgent help when short term medical care at a local major hospital, is completed for her release. The homeless all over California are crying out to us, to lift the cruelest of injustices, in the extension of the mercies of the common dignity of us all. I know this woman, and many others love and enjoy her bright smile and never-failing optimism, with many personal challenges and set-back's, but also her hard work, decent behavior, local contribution, and real co-operation with every effort to earn a living, get jobs, find a home, or find the right path society has asked of her. Immediate housing need is urgent, immediate long-term therapy costs, short-term transportation, food, pharmacy, legal costs, counseling costs, relocation costs if any, and on-going medical expenses, surgery costs. hospital fees, mentor, ombudsman, etc. I am only guessing at my goal here of $12,000, but it seems do-able. Won't you help? If you can't send money on this site, write a letter to the Vallejo Times-Herald, and the same letter to the Vallejo City Council, the leadership for Vallejo Police, the leadership for the County of Solano (Board of Supervisors), and the District Attorney's office, or your Congressman. This happened seven days ago, (Mar. 9) and yes, I am friends with Starla, perhaps you are too. I can hardly imagine, it's too much for anyone, much less a local Vallejo ethnic woman, facing heavy injustice that was no one's fault, leaving her homeless and at a complete loss, here where she grew up. Please help if you can, as soon as you can. Thank you. Peace ahimsa.
