Make Megan's Wish Come True

My name is Deedee. I am starting this page for my family and at the request of Megan. She is almost 13 years old and the only thing she wants for her birthday and Christmas is to be legally adopted into my family. This October she will be with me for 3 years for 2 and 1/2 of those years she has wanted to be adopted I don't need a legal document for her to be my daughter because I fell in love with her the first moment that she was in my life but she needs this adoption to finally move forward and have closure from the things that have happened in her life before she came to me. She wants you to know about her past so you will understand why she needs and wants this so badly. So here comes her story. When Megan was a toddler her biological parents both became heavily addicted to drugs. During that time she was neglected in several different ways. From the time it started until she left her parents care here are a few things this baby went through. Her parents made her pee in a cup for them so they could pass their drug tests. She was left with numerous strangers for days at a time. She was forced to help shoplift. Between 1st and 3rd grade she moved multiple times 4 times in 2nd grade alone. On her birthday in 2nd grade she went home to find all her belongings loaded into a dump truck to be hauled off because they hadn't paid rent and were evicted. She has scars on both feet, ankles and legs from the knees down due to living conditions and untreated skin issues. Not to mention the much deeper emotional scars. Close to the end of 2nd grade the state stepped in and she was placed with a family member. It was supposed to be a 3 month temporary placement until her parents could clean up. The family member did everything possible to help her a year and a half later the family member could no longer keep her. That's where I come into the picture. A friend of mine called me and explained the situation and at that moment my life changed. She became my daughter. She was taking several medications for various health problems in less than a month she was no longer on the medication. When she came to me she didn't believe in God because she couldn't understand why if there was a God that he could let all the bad things she went through happen. Praise report in 2015 she gave her life to God. She is doing great in school and with healing emotionally. Megan has asked me for over a year to do a go fund me page to help with the cost behind the adoption attorney fees and home study but I wanted to try and do this without needing help. We have managed to save a little money, On top of that Megan started raising money by having yardsales during the summer. My youngest daughter who is 8 saves every dollar she gets her hands on. We need right at 5000$ to have everything completed. Megan has made a very valid point if enough people share her story and 5000 people donate 1$ it will be enough to make her wish come true. If anything above the amount needed is raised it will be used to have the scars on her legs removed. Please pray for us regardless of anything else and if you can't donate please share her story.
