Mission: Costa Rica
Donation protected
Hey everyone!
I'd like to share with you what God's been doing in my life over these past few months.
I'm currently enrolled at John Brown University in Siloam
Springs, Arkansas, and am just now finishing my freshman year here with plans
to return in the fall. I currently work at the Siloam Springs branch of the
Boys and Girls club of America, and am majoring in Outdoor Leadership
Ministries with a minor in Psychology.
Here at school, I've found so many strong and faithful followers of Christ that have kept me accountable in my relationship with Him. My teachers have encouraged me to fight to stay close to Him, and I strive daily to do this. I'm committed to follow God wherever He leads me, which has led me to an amazing opportunity for this summer.
Early this year my sister, Rebekah, told me about some friends of hers from the church she attended who had moved to Costa Rica to follow God's call to full-time ministry working with middle to high school kids from all over the country. They help run a summer camp and were looking for interns to help reach kids for Christ during the summer. The mission that this internship promotes is directly in line with my passions: leading youth to Christ through outdoor opportunities. The timing & nature of this opportunity in my life is no coincidence, and it was clear to me the moment I heard about it that God wanted me to go and do His work.
This camp reaches out to kids from all places in life through days filled with games, sports, activities, music, powerful chapels, and an opportunity every day to give their life to Christ. It offers hundreds of kids throughout the summer the chance to change their lives that they might not get anywhere else.
Another thing that this internship offers is the opportunity to team up with other groups from around the U.S. and do missions work throughout Costa Rica. During some weeks or weekends when campers aren't at the camp, we will go into cities around the country and reach people who need the message of Love that God has to tell.
While this God-given opportunity is amazing, I can't go into it alone, and that's where you come in. In order for me to follow this call in my life, I need to raise the funds to send me there. I will be involved in this internship from June 15th "“ August 15th and the total cost of the trip is $4,000. Any gift you can give is so greatly appreciated. But I plead most for your prayerful support in this endeavor, so that I will have patience, a will to rely on Him always, and His active presence in the time leading up to and during the camp.
What the cost of this trip covers encompasses camp costs, room & board, airfare, other travel expenses for the misc. missions work we'll do around the country. If the Lord has put on your heart to invest in this ministry with me, I am so grateful. There are no specific designated amounts for giving and every donation is very much appreciated!
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and any form of support you are able to give me.
