Help My Niece
Donation protected
Hello everyone. My niece Christina and her parents need your help. Christina is 25 years old. She is fighting for her life and the life of her 27 week pregnancy. Christina is a single Mom with a six year year old son, Carter and a two year old daughter Charleigh. She is 27 weeks pregnant in the ICU at University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore on double life support. She is fighting Covid. In the precarious pursuit to save Christina's life and the life of the baby in her womb the doctors had to take the baby boy and rush him into neo natal intensive care on January 15 while Christina remains in a medically induced coma on double life support. In addition, even though Christina is in a medically induced coma, her reflexive coughing from the intubation tube has necessitated her to be placed in a medically induced paralysis to prevent traumatic damage due to coughing. The situation is solemn. The precious baby boy is reported to have weighed in at two pounds.
Christina's mother and father (my brother), are the primary and sole caregivers for Christina, Carter, Charleigh and the miracle baby boy. Both work full time. In order to provide care neither can presently be at work. This will be the case, at least intermittently for an unknown period of time. Their bosses have told each of them to take the time away from work that they need, however it is without pay. Bills are coming due and daycare, if they can find it, is expensive.
The emotional toll on Christina's mother and father is obvious. Everyone is praying for their spiritual needs. But the realities of life are that they do not currently have the income needed for the caregiving that circumstances beyond their control are requiring of them.
It is my goal to seek financial help for them on a broad scale basis so that the burden that falls so heavily on them falls lightly on many others. Please contribute what you can and then please share this funding message and request with as many people as you can.
For disclosure purposes, GoFundMe is paid a 2.9% fee plus 30 cents from every donation. The overhead fee for most charitable organizations is 20% to 30% of each dollar donated. I am donating my time and skills to administer the funding of my niece's caregiving related expenses in addition to my family's financial donation. The bottom line is 97% of your contributions will go directly to cover the life saving care giving expenses described above. This is a need in progress and the financial goal may have to be adjusted based on what happens over the next weeks and months. Thus the need to spread this message far and wide.
God bless each and every one of you who reads this message.
