Supporting the Smith family
On January 7th, my nephew Landon Smith was jumping at a local trampoline park when he broke his neck crushing his C5 vertabrae and doing some major damage to his spine.. he has been in the hospital ever since. My sister Brenda and Brian have been at his side supporting him and advocating for his care and recovery.
One thing you should know is that they are what I call "givers" Brian and Brenda were very active as volunteers; getting the Be Brave Ranch ready for the kids in need of healing they spent many weekends at the ranch cleaning, renovating and helping out wherever they could. Brenda has spent years using her professional skills to work with many charities like Sorrentino's Compassion House as well as being the Co-Chair for the first Relay for Life here in Strathcona County and even has taken a few pies in the face for the Steptember Cerebral Palsy Challenge!
While they have not asked, I think it is time that we return some of that good will to them.
Since January 7th their main focus has been Landon and ensuring he gets the best care possible. This not only takes a toll on their well being but has put some financial stresses on the family. In an effort to alleviate some of that, we are looking to raise the money to help them get their home ready for Landon, so they can provide the support he needs for recovery.
