Help Me Get To The World Championships

Hi Everyone, 

Welcome to my GoFundMe page! Firstly as you all know I play this obscure little sport called American Flag Football which I have played now for 7 years and competed in 3 Major Conpetitions (European Championships - 17, 19, 23) . I currently play in a Women's team in Coventry called the Coventry Cougars who are 9 x National Champions & 1 x European Club Champions (with too many other accolades mention) which has aided and propelled my game and allowed me to being lucky enough to being asked to represent Great Britain.

Last year with the support of many friends and family I was lucky enough to compete at the European Championships and come home with a Gold Medal in Ireland 2023 which meant the world to me.

With that success and much more hard work I have been successful in my selection for the World Championships in Finland this year to hopefully continue our success on the World stage and show what Great Britain can do as a nation!

So what am I asking for?

Although the Flag Football is increasing in popularity and now is recognised as an Olympic Sport for the LA 2028 games. In Great Britian it is still classified as an amateur sport with very little funding. With this in mind every player within the squad are being asked to pay their way individually! The estimated price for the whole trip is placed at £1800 which is a substantial amount of money to raise in a short period of time! Anything raised over this will go towards any additional equipment/kit prior to the World Championships.

With the cost of living increasing substantially and the uncertainty of when it will stop... Paying the bills and mortgage is difficult, however unfortunately my pay does not cover the additional cost of an Incredible opportunity to do what you love and represent your country again! Therefore it is an incredibly difficult task to raise this substantial figure of money in such a short period of time, hence the reason for this little page. 

I hate to ask for help and I wouldn't ask unless I've expended all other potential options! I love the sport and I love having the feeling of pride whenever I pull that Jersey on.  So what better way to do it than travel to Finland with an amazing bunch of girls trying to qualify for the World Games in China next year and then onto the Olympics in 2028.

I'm trying to raise some of the money and work my arse off to get the rest... So I apologise in advance for asking but any amount spared would be greatly appreciated, as it will drive me even more as a player to perform on that pitch to show everyone that has ever supported me and been there for me that they did right by helping me get to where I am today!
