Gender affirming surgery

For those that don't know me well- My name is Drew. I'm a queer person. My partner and I live in Texas currently. I have come out as nonbinary, and my pronouns are they/them. This realization has been life-changing for me. I am so thankful for the people in my life that have been so supportive. I reached out to a surgeon my partner used seven years ago. I had my consultation and have decided that top surgery (double mastectomy) is something I want and need. When I realized I was nonbinary and that removing my breasts was something I could do, I have had extreme body and gender disphoria. I can't make the appointment until I put a deposit down. The deposit is $750, and the surgery will total $6650. Unfortunately, insurance will not cover gender-affirming surgeries such as this. I will save my own money and pay out of pocket for this surgery. I already live paycheck to paycheck with inflation and regular living costs and bills, etc., so saving will be difficult. It's hard for me to ask for help in general, but I deserve support from those willing, and I deserve to be comfortable in my body! Just like everyone else :)
