Help Becky Find Her Voice

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Jill Keaton, and I am the mother of Becky Keaton, a beautiful 11-year-old non-verbal Autistic girl. Together with my husband Jim and 10-year-old daughter Mackenzie, we would like to thank you for your interest in helping Becky to find her voice.

Being the parent of a non-verbal child is much like watching your child grow up behind a glass wall. You can see them, but you can’t always help them. You are left helpless and oftentimes hopeless. Autism has stripped Becky of the ability to effectively and easily express herself. This means she is unable to express herself when she is not just happy or sad, but when she is experiencing pain. The chains of Autism have kept her a prisoner with us serving as helpless onlookers.

Over the past 11 years, we have done anything and everything we possibly could do as parents to encourage her speech development, but it just hasn’t been enough.

On February 15, 2023, Becky will be traveling to Phoenix Arizona to begin a four-phase treatment at the Innate Healthcare Institute. Her treatment plan will require her to visit this facility every three months to receive stem cells with the goal of healing the neurons in her brain. By healing the neurons, neurotransmitter activity improves, and messages, thoughts and information are effectively able to travel across the brain. When this happens, speech can begin.

Unfortunately, this healing comes with a heavy cost to us. As owners of The Social Canine, a doggie daycare facility in Westford, MA, our business has afforded us the luxury to always be there for our daughters and to provide for Becky’s care and daily needs no matter how challenging that may be. Over the years our caring clients have all witnessed our struggles, but one client has encouraged us to establish this GoFundMe page. As Becky’s parents, we thought it was our responsibility to bear this financial burden ourselves, but she reminded us that we are not alone in this struggle. She reminded us that it’s ok to ask for help. Thank you!

Our total financial commitment to this process is $32,000 but, in our eyes, if this treatment gives Becky a better quality of life, it will all be worth it.

As Becky’s Mother and voice, I thank you for caring enough to read this story and thank you for any financial assistance you may be able to provide us to assure that Becky gets the services we hope will allow our beautiful girl the ability to be not just be seen, but be heard.

Thank You,
Jill, Jim and Mackenzie Keaton
